Shanghai Low Carbon Summit, 2015

Shanghai and London came together to stage the Low Carbon Forum on 28-29 January 2015 – a two-day event to examine global best practices in how to develop a sustainable city.

The Summit provided a platform for government officials, industry leaders, and academics to present new policy initiatives, technology solutions, design practices and community efforts in pursuit of a Low Carbon Economy.

The first day opened with policy statements by government officials from both China and UK, followed by presentations on environmental challenges and policy trends. The afternoon sessions focused on low-carbon finance, technology applications and case-studies.

The second day focused on low-carbon strategies and specific project initiatives in pursuit of those strategies – sustainable design, low-carbon transport, circular economy and green finance.  Following a series of panel discussions, the Summit ended with a Closing Session focusing on a framework for future information exchange, collaborative efforts, and investment partnerships.
